Kujukushima and Saikai Pearl Sea Resort

We had a great time with the Callihan family and our new friends the Kadz family at the Kujukushima Aquarium and resort. There are so many great things to do there, it makes for a really nice day. It is just such a beautiful place to visit! We went through the aquarium and enjoyed the dolphin show.

You can pick your own oyster to find a pearl. The oysters are farmed in the waters right outside the aquarium.
Eisley makes friends wherever we go.

We got all the kids in one picture :)

For lunch we ate at Pinocchio's which was a really cute little Italian place that worked out great for our big group. The second floor overlooks the kitchen with its brick oven. They have a little pully system set up so they hoist the pizzas from the kitchen up to the second floor dining area.
Next we boarded the Pearl Queen for a tour of the islands belonging to Saikai National Park. The name Kujukushima comes from the work Kujuku which means "99" but means countless or many. There's actually 208 islands included off the coast of Sasebo (all but three are uninhabited), and the cruise takes you around 21 of them. You can see fishing areas and oyster beds along the way.

  2. How exciting to have new family friends to site see with. I love your pics and videos! It is like you are on a permanent vacation in Japan with so many new friends and such interesting adventures. I wish I didn't have a job and so many responsibilities. I would take you up on coming there for a month or two. :D
