Bio Park

The first place I wanted to take David when he came home was Bio Park. We went with our good friends Brennan and Mariah. It is this amazing little animal park, where you are pretty much thrown in there with all the animals. You are encouraged to touch and feed most of the animals there, and the naughty ones get put into "time out". They also have a beautiful garden area, and plenty of places to have a nice little picnic. David apparently has big fingers because he fed them to almost all the animals, but it isn't everyday you get the opportunity to be nibbled by a kangaroo or monkey. We picked up season's passes for 4000 Yen each, so you might see a lot more of bio park on here!
I've told one too many stories about my childhood cockatoo Pepe, because David was super nervous this guy would bite him.
Capybara
Coati
They always have crazy cartoons. I love the angel tiger.
The squirrel monkeys are crazy little Kleptomaniacs, you need to keep an eye on them.
Black Lemur
He's so buff!
After the zoo we stopped at a "family restaurant". It had a fantastic view of the water and Huis Ten Bosh and our new home in Hario. The meal was definitely interesting. I ordered Omrice (an omelette wrapped around ketchup rice) which is usually a safe bet, except this time they cracked a raw egg over the whole thing. On the side was what I guessed to be a hot dog wrapped around a chicken bone? I'm not really sure what was happening there. David had Japanese curry with rice.

Here is a map for those who are interested  in seeing it for yourselves. There is free parking avaliable. It is approx $15 per visit or $40 for a season's pass.

  1. The full-feathered peacock picture looks like a postcard. Great still of all the colors of the cockatoo that looks just like Pepe.
